THANK YOU'S |
|
I would like to thank everyone who came and visited me in My World. This has been a fun, interesting and certainly an educational experience for me. I would also like to thank my husband who has over the years been kind and patient with my desire to be me and has encouraged me to explore my many interests. My eldest son Dave, deserves a special thank you. He has been so kind and patient teaching me about computers. It has been very much appreciated. Without his help and insistence I would not have a web page, I would not have joined any lists, I certainly would not be a list owner and most importantly I would not have met some very wonderful people from all over the world, Bruce and John from Australia and Fernando from Brazil, who have given me their friendship and allowed me a peek into their lives. Love you guys!! Thank you for your kind words...some serious, some funny .always encouraging and supportive and many words of wisdom and inspiration. Of those I have chosen the following...I think these are beautiful words. Joanne

Words to Live By.
DESIDERATA
Go placidly amid the
noise and haste, and remember that peace
is found in silence.
As far as possible,
without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly
and clearly; yet listen to others, even to the dull and ignorant; for they too
have a message for you. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they will lower your
spirit through their fear.
Yet, do not compare
yourself with others, lest you become vain or bitter, for always there will be
greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your own achievements however
humble, as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own standing for it is a
real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in
your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind
you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere
life is full of heroism, if you will seek it.
Be yourself. Especially
do not feign affection. Be not cynical about Love; for without it, all is
aridity and finally, disenchantment. Love is as the Lotus. Take kindly the
counsel of the years, gracefully surrender the things of youth. Exercise
strength of spirit to shield you against misfortune. But do not distress
yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are simply born of loneliness. Beyond
a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are seeking perfection, you
are not it, yet.
You are a child of the
universe and no less than the trees and the stars, you have earned the right to
be here.
